Fredericia’s Ditzel armchair, as the name suggests, is a beautiful and inviting chair designed by Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel in 1953. The designer’s couple wanted to create a comfortable and practical armchair that would look good from all sides – this way the chair could be used in any room and also anywhere in that room. The understated elegance of the Ditzel armchair is suitable for a wide range of environments, in your living room or reading corner also looks great in the bedroom as a seat for changing.
The designer:
Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) was a Danish designer who studied furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and started her career together with her partner Jørgen Ditzel, with whom she designed the famous Hanging Egg chair. After Jørgen’s death in 1961, Nanna Ditzel continued her career in London until she returned to Copenhagen in 1986, where she opened her own design studio and furniture workshop.
